Wax Over Water is a multidisciplinary collection that explores two deeply
intertwined themes: a young girl’s journey into womanhood and the impact
of the built environment on North Omaha residents. Through poetry and
imagery, the collection chronologically shifts through stories of resilience,
community empowerment, and the intersections of identity and place.

Rooted in collaboration and community voices, Wax Over Water aims to
inspire young people while bridging understanding between residents and
those shaping their environments. The final work features twenty original
poems paired with photographs taken by Omaha-based photographers.
